Fort Worth Downtown YMCA Rooftop Upgraded with New Solar Power System Donated by Reliant Energy

From the release:

With help from Reliant Energy the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA in Fort Worth will harness the sun’s power to save energy and lower electricity costs, as well as reduce its impact on the environment. Reliant Energy is making a donation to cover the YMCA’s cost of installing a 10-kilowatt solar power system on its roof.

“We wanted to share the benefits of solar energy with the YMCA, including saving money on energy costs, to help advance the important work it does in the community with local neighborhoods and families,” said Jason Few, Reliant Energy President. “The location of this rooftop solar system, in the heart of Fort Worth, will help show how we can think differently about how we use energy as we work together for a more sustainable future.”
